Oakenshire
Tucked into the rolling, oak tree cloaked hills that rise toward the jagged peaks guarding the greater Havenspass area, the modest hamlet of Oakenshire serves as the last friendly waypoint before the steep descent on the road into The Mistwood. A scattering of sturdy log homes and moss-roofed cottages cluster around a central tavern. Their chimneys commonly send thin threads of woodsmoke into the cool, pine-scented air. Narrow dirt lanes wind between ancient oaks and dense ferns, where villagers—mostly humans and a few reclusives from other races eke out a living from small-scale lumbering, foraging, and guiding the occasional traveler or trade caravan up the H.T. toward Havenspass & Mythburg to the north. Life here remains quiet and tight-knit, a deliberate buffer against the economic hardship and creeping lawlessness that have taken root in Havenspass itself. Locals speak of The Mistwood area beyond the next ridge with a mix of reverence and unease, and they offer warm hearths, simple meals, and reliable directions to those stopping here.

Beholder Mafia
It was explained to The Party of Eyrun, Jules, Urist & Alimir at the first game session in Oakenshire that this area suffers from a nearby beholder criminal venture. Orcs (with a C) are apparently tied to it as well. The town is wary of this, but also has not been destroyed, so some balance must exist between these entities. The beholder this involves is named ZuuNek The Paranoid.
Culture/Customs
- On the longest night of Winter the residents of Oakenshire hold a festival called Fallah by unlocking all of their homes and stores and having what amounts to a giant open house for 24 hours straight. They leave out food and drink in each house. Per custom, no one may be inside of their own house or store during the time of the festival, which forces the real spirit of the festival to take happen. That spirit would be trust in the community since no one has direct ability to mind their own things.
- There is a rabbit species only found in a limited geographical area near Oakenshire called a Yen-Rabbit. Having a tooth from a yen-rabbit embedded into your jewelry is considered good luck in these parts.
- It is considered to be rude in Oakenshire for someone to ask about the status of another's wealth.
- Goliath are tolerated here, but not accepted. Many in Oakenshire specifically live here to avoid the heritage of neighboring city Havenspass.
Development
- Natalie was encountered as a wereboar until the Cloud Stone Ring removed her curse of being a therianthrope.
- The Party met a traveling human trader named Vern, when they initially came to town.
- The Mistwood has a lot of undead recently in somewhat close proximity to Oakenshire.
- These undead, following events, seem to be under the guidance of Jhason.

- There was once a town called Oakenveil adjacent to the location of Oakenshire, before Oakenshire ever existed. It has been discovered that below this adjacent town is where The Oakenveil Portal exists.
