Caislen Campaign Notes

These characters are evolving from backstory to campaign plot level due to Jules Jesko's adventuring back to where she's from in the Havenspass region. Therefor the notes must be clear for your humble Dungeon Master to work with. The following makes a few assumptions. Such as last names in this fantasy setting tend to carry from husband to wife in a marriage, and then down to children as well by default. We're also using “step mom” as a term because it is valid and has that kind of neat fairy tale movie twist vibe to it.

1. Jules Jesko
   1. Player Character for whom this family lineage exists!
   2. Wood Elf¹⁾
   3. Biological daughter of Nix Jesko (mother) and (unnamed) Jesko (father).
2. Grew up in Havenspass.
   1. Went to school in Mythburg.
      1. Basically ran away from a magic school and opted for Ranger life instead of becoming a Wizard. That started her adventuring career.

   1. Wood Elf
   2. Biological Mother of Jules.
   3. Might be the parent from Skip's bloodline. Unknown at this time.
   4. (Re)Married to Kess.
2. Kess
   1. Tiefling
   2. Step Mother of Jules.
   3. Distant descendant of the Lugo infernal blood line.
   4. Married to Nix.

1. Both mothers grew up elsewhere and then later moved to Havenspass at different times. Both of them were fairly well off financially in life so Jules was raised comfortably.
2. They run a business employing several Wood Elves to make Elven Cordage.
   1. Actual residence is within the Havenspass Commune and doubles as home.
   2. There is a free room right above the cordage workshop that is available for Jules & friends.

   1. Wood Elf
   2. Father left when Jules was an infant.
   3. Jules doesn't remember him.
   4. Might be the parent from Skip's bloodline. Unknown at this time.

1. Wyrd Uncle Lugo
   1. Biologically not related to Jules but is an ancestor of step mother Kess.
   2. Has only recently met the Two Moms because Jules asked him to deliver a letter which is what got him face to face contact with them.
   3. Demon
   4. Has the ability to get around, even across great distances and time, so can be tangled up in all things related to Jules' family.

1. Simp The Imp
   1. Deceased. While in a dungeon fighting alongside Jules, Alimir & Eyrun the imp took enough damage to begin making death savings throws. Jules specifically had the ability to stabilize Simp, intentionally declined to do so, and thus Simp died.²⁾ Only lasted 3 sessions. Was 748 years old, which was declared really young by Lugo.
      1. Basically Jules paranoia about Simp being some sort of spy of Lugo's led to her letting Simp get killed off. The official statement Jules makes about this to anyone outside of those present is that Simp died “as a hero” fighting to defend the party. Which doesn't track because Simp was known to be like most imps, which is kind of cowardly.
   2. A bonus PC whos sheet was passed around for a different player to control each session. Literally started as a level 1 Imp with stats straight out of the Monster Manual. Would have been able to evolve if he leveled far enough.
   3. Biologically not related to Jules but is allegedly, according to Lugo, a “distant step cousin” from the Kess bloodline.
   4. Joined up when Lugo first encountered The Party in the Havenspass region and realized they needed help tracking “werewolf Alimir”. Lugo was able to summon Simp as needed.

1. Skip is Jules' Great to the somewhere between 6th or 8th generation prior grandfather.
   1. Dark Elf. Jules carries just 1% of Skip's DNA due to the generational watering down.
   2. Has connection to Jules and Lugo due to the Crompse Causal Loop but lives on a different continent from the rest of the family mentioned here so doesn't know them.
   3. Isn't actually aware that he has any biological connection to Jules.
2. Mynt is the Great to the somewhere between 6th or 8th generation prior grandmother of Jules Jesko, also per the causal loop. She was a Wood Elf in Ancient Crompse of loose moral character.
