CARDHOUSE (TAVERN & INN)
- Barkeep “Jack”1), human, male. Thus far has only functioned as the proprietor for the place and also as the local real estate agent for Mirror House.
- There is a glass case mounted on the wall housing artifacts that are a local attraction.
- It is very common on any given day to see new NPC adventurers pop up on personal missions to find the relics or tangle with some other element of Goldvale.
- Skip is generally willing to take about 10 gold off someone to give them info on where to find a relic or anything else they might think to ask him.
- Prices for food (Burger 1sp), drink (1sp ale, 2sp wine) and lodging (Modest 5sp).
- Mustard is now a burger topping here because of the influence of Mustard Mike.
- Coleslaw is a specialty burger topping here if you're aware it is an option. Skip loves it.
- There are 3 rooms here to rent for a night.
- Ginger has been banned.
- Upon special request, Frail Victorian Chicken Soup2) can be had for 1 gold.
Artifacts
The glass case on the wall here is showcasing 3 special artifacts, which the PCs are told are just REPLICAS. So players hear the stories about them, NPCs come to start their own quests for them, and it helps Goldvale draw a lot of interest as a destination. See Shovel Of Alden3), The Ring Of Ted and the last one is a standard D&D Handy Haversack. No game is complete with the potential for an extra dimension bag of some sort.
Past Campaign
- Originally using the same backstory about getting kicked out of their goblin clan as Leithe is now, was a goblin named Gobbo was the burger maker.
- An NPC Dragonborn named “Blue” was ever present in the bar in the past, becoming a friend-enemy to the party for many adventures. This time he's replaced by the non stop flow of out of towners.
- Skip is probably historically the most core component of the place because he's a catalyst for chaos.
- The Artifacts were not part of the original go around for the Card House. They're only present now to promote story line instead of other ways they were woven into the game world historically. If memory serves the Ring Of Ted didn't happen in Goldvale on its first go around and the Shovel Of Alden predates the original creating of the Goldvale module.
