Caislen Campaign Notes

Petteese Creek isn't even a full village, it is just a few locals & whatever they offer as far as homes and stores that have popped up as a supplement to the Demicein Sect Fortress. The location of Petteese Creek is adjacent to a major road in the Hylund region, and the namesake creek that flows through also acts as a water source for the place.¹⁾

• Petteese Creek is pronounced “Pettys Creek”, and so named because most of the locals have something petty going on in their personality.
  • The double “ee” sound is used for some of the local NPCs in their last names as a local quirk.
• Patrick once lived here for about 4 months and they got fed up with the locals so moved on.
• The actual creek is only about 12 feet wide and only 3 feet deep at its largest points. It seems to have an enchantment which negates all attempts to divert it into new stream paths, likely relating to Ramscire. The very presence of Ramscire close to here makes this a common waypoint for anyone headed toward it.
• This whole place only exists in the first place because of the Demicein Sect choosing the area originally.

• Petteese Emporium / Annabay Meerchant - General Store attached to a mysterious warehouse.
  • Annabay is a human woman, perhaps 30 years old, with only one arm.²⁾
  • Vigino isn't allowed to shop here because Annabay is giving in the silent treatment for some unknown reason.
  • The warehouse that the Emporium is attached to, and the Emporium itself are not owned by Annabay. Some other entity owns it all and Annabay just works for them. She does not personally enter the warehouse, and sometimes carts come and go from it outside of her scope. It is also supposedly guarded by some means.
  • The most unique feature of the Emporium is that it has a Levelcus for sale in for 1000gp, sitting in a glass case in the center of the store.
• B-OOZE LLC / Vigino Beeooze - Makes some sort of specialized alcoholic gelatinous shot.
  • Vigino is a male dwarf.³⁾
  • For 1sp almost anyone can buy an “ooze shot” from B-OOZE LLC. Anyone that consumes one must make a CON saving throw DC 9 or being intoxicated.
  • Vigino will pay handsomely for a bucket of ooze, should any adventurers defeat one in battle as this is part of his special recipe to make ooze shots.
  • Annabay is not welcome into Vigino's store because he's jealous of her because he also had wanted to get the job at the Petteesse Emporium when it first opened and she got it instead.
• Lester's Bakery and Other Things / Lester Bakeer - A bakery that makes seasonal rations, and “other things.”
• Ketrice Weever - A local weaver who specializes in warmer clothing.
  • Ketrice is a very attractive human woman in her 20s.⁴⁾
  • Ketrice specializes in making clothing, particularly cold weather clothing.
  • Ketrice claims to be descended from nobility and dislikes Lester because he tells people she is lying.
  • Ketrice has an annoying English accent.
  • Ketrice has decorated her house with a fairly obvious pumpkin motif. She seems to believe in a god known as the Great Pumpkin.
• Razvan Geeard - An unofficial, unelected local guard / law enforcement for Petteese Creek.
  • Razvan is a rough looking fighter type human male, probably the sort that always looks a little grim and wouldn't clean up too well if he tried.
  • Has been wanting Alex's romantic attention but cannot seem to get it, so has grown a little petty about it.
  • Seems to believe he is the local guard or law enforcement and is constantly patrolling Petteese Creek even though no one asked him to. He won't stop though and everyone just seems to accept it at this point.
• Alex Leedar - An unofficial, unelected local leader for Petteese Creek.
  • Alex is a tiefling.⁵⁾
  • They/Them are sort of a “Karen”, who wanders around as if they were part of an HOA board.
  • Alex has been doing this for so long, when no one asked for it for the record, that everyone has given up fighting it, frequently letting Alex dictate things like size and type of bushes allowed in their yards.
  • Alex is perpetually upset with Razvan for not agreeing to keep his personal berry bushes smooth or to a certain length. Alex things keeping bush well manicured is a very high priority.
  • Alex's main reason for living in Petteese Creek is that the presence of Celestials at the fortress is typically something that would keep tieflings from wanting to be here. As a sort of outsider, this usually keeps Alex free from having to deal with other tieflings.
• Outkast Magics - A technically local magic store.
• Gazeebo - A local gazebo that is built stretching over the creek.
  • There are some comfy benches built into this gazebo.
  • There is an inscription burned into the wood on the gazebo that reads, “Enjoy a glass of wine here under a full moon…”
• Junk Pile
• Demicein Sect Fortress
