The Dwarves
There are standard dwarves as a race and using various classes as found in the core materials, but then are specific homebrew subraces, social divisions, historical notes and whatnot in this game.
- Mature physically at the same rate as humans but are considered young until age 50.1)
- Actual lifespan can reach 500 years under optimal conditions, but most live closer to 400 with simple lifestyles. Highly warlike or adventurer types don't normally last that long however.
- Female dwarves do not grow beards.
Sub Types
- Alley Dwarves - A sub-race of dwarves that have devolved a bit. As the name implies they're frequently found in alleys, usually in urban areas, where they rummage through trash, might even smell like it too. They are scavengers who try to avoid notice, but at the same time might just come around and beg for coin. They've got diminished intelligence but high wisdoms. If their charisma is high it is because of being charmingly adorable in a pathetic homeless vibe kind of way. They tend to live in little communal clusters in the strangest places, and they are often taken advantage of.
- Hill Dwarves - Dwarves that come from softer hill areas, more prone to being found above ground than their Mountain cousins.
- Mountain Dwarves - as the name implies, tribes of dwarves that historically are born and raised in mountains. Not the most common to see on the surface.
Toc Clan Dwarves
The Toc Clan historically existed in the greater Goldvale area operating the Toc Clan Coal Mine & Toc Clan Keep in what is today simply known as the Old Dwarven Keep. Due to the invasion wiping them out from the premises in the historical Toc Clan Coal Mine Event there are no more Toc Clan, at least not in the area2).
All that's currently known of these historic dwarves is that they were around well before Goldvale, mined coal, and seemed to be social enough with a variety of sorts in their time.
Other Dwarves
- Dwarfario in Havenspass.
- Urist Saltbeard is a sailor who is new to the lands in the game. As a foundling, all he knows about maybe having a clan out there somewhere is that it might be associated with a jade ring that was found on him as a baby.
- A group of Dwarven Bandits who live near the Shrine Of Heaglin.
- Their leader Sam Smith now runs Club Haversack.
- Dwarves of the Stormhill Mountains - unexplored as of yet in this campaign.
