Caislen Campaign Notes

The Dense Forest is located in the southwest part of the extended Goldvale area. Contained within it via the only little intentional roadway is the noteworthy Shrine Of Hayte. But otherwise it is as the name implies, a very DENSE forest. Historically it was the home of the Shangri Elves whom appear to be no more. For purposes of adventuring however, any random animal path or makeshift excuse to enter the forest at random angles and points can result in some new shenanigans.

• A botanist named Fig-Daisy, who needed an escort, led the party from a random northern point trying to find a woad, some mandrakes and an assortment of other misc plants in the forms of encounters and treasures. Along the way an altar was discovered amongst some bamboo.
• While on a quest to capture a zombie for Phil for Eyrun's sake, her and Urist were directed to go to a “1 acre island of trees” deep in the forest. Turns out that surrounding this island of trees was a circular farmland growing a large amount of vegetables and fruits¹⁾, with special emphasis on pumpkins, with previously unknown elves living tending and safeguarding it. PCs found out that the elves would attack anyone who tried to cross their encircling ring of farmland to reach the tree island. Eventually they bribed an unnamed female elf to let them cross so they could continue their journey. The reason for the farmland seemed to be that it was technically holy ground for some sort of deity they believe in called The Great Pumpkin. The premise being that zombies inhabited the tree island, and the sacred ground kept them from passing/escaping it. PCs had to murder their captured zombie in order to bring it back across the threshold of the fields/farmland without the power of this pumpkin entity stopping them²⁾.
