Zapata appears to be a dwarven male, roughly middle aged, and his signature look is wearing clothes that don't really suit the style of most dwarves such as whatever the people of Goldvale wear in general he imitates. His hygiene seems to be far better than most dwarves, and his manor-isms don't seem dwarf like at all. Suspiciously uses an alien minifigure during game sessions…
He is the Resident Doctor of Goldvale. Or at least he aspires to be and isn't officially practicing in a public facing manner. Instead he endeavors to treat the occasional minor bruise, pull a tooth, and whatever else that doesn't require major surgery. But he has ambition to get to a point where he can.
He came to the attention of The Party when The Tavern Guy gossiped about Zapata and Skip supposedly doing shady things at the Goldvale Crematorium late at night. This was one of the plot hooks for what we're calling “Goldvale Phase 2.” They quickly explored the crematorium to find a body on a slab with a note on it simply labeled, “Zapata”.
- The Party visited his house and he chatted with them. They discovered weird mannerisms not becoming a dwarf, lots of excited chatter about doctoring, he put together a doomed meet with Eyrun to talk about healing but she missed the deadline to get back to him in 2 days, and generally he's kind of…odd.
- Nystor revealed to the party that Zapata ask HIM to ask The Party if they could “sneak a cow on to the second floor” of Nystor's own house for 10gp. Zapata either doesn't know how to pull a prank or had some other zany motive. But you don't ask the person you're pranking to help set up the prank!
