Caislen Campaign Notes

This spellbook, Mythburg Academy Spellbook #3579, is one of many that hails from Mythburg's magic academy as a training spellbook for young wizards. It is specially enchanted so that any wizard may read it unlike normal spellbooks¹⁾, it weighs just 2 pounds, is tiny²⁾, has just 10 pages³⁾. Please note that these spells are all homebrew for our campaign and a few fine points might have to be discussed to make use of them for the first time.

• This spellbook was for sale for 50gp when first encountered at Outkast Magics.

• Gust Of Pepper
  • This spell can only be cast centered on the caster. It releases an almost invisible gust of pepper into the air for 30 feet around the caster. The caster is immune to the effects, but everyone else must make a CON save vs the casters spell save DC or they sneeze within a round. Works on pretty much anything with a nose.
• Deposit Sand
  • This spell was developed to test wizards to see how well they can use a simple spell as part of a larger scenario. To that end this spell creates 3 pounds worth of sand that pours out of a tiny portal over the course of 5 minutes, as if it was coming out of an hourglass or some other device that slows the pour rate. The target can be anywhere up to 20 feet from the caster. Effectively this allows for a small sand pile to form, with increasing volume and weight during the duration. The keen wizard engineering mind might find things to do with this. The sand vanishes after 1 hour.
• Deposit Water
  • Akin to the “deposit sand” spell, but using water. There are practical applications to this. As a caveat, any water consumed as created by this spell still vanishes after an hour. Again, the keen wizard mind might find things to do with this.
• Whoopee
  • A nod to the classic toy “whoopee cushion”, this spell can be cast on a doorway and the first time someone or something goes through it a large farting noise erupts. This spell was created at the academy by a young wizard who got fed up with others entering their room to draw rude looking runes on their forehead as they slept. Duration 1 day & does not require concentration.
