Table of Contents

The Mirror House of Goldvale is a house that PCs Eyrun & Jules bought for the price of one cow1), sold to them by the bartender Jack at The Card House. It is a roughly square small one story house with a couple of windows2). Inside it it came unfurnished and according to the bartender it has a history of unexplained vacancies, thus keeps defaulting back to being for sale, with the bartender just sort of the de-facto real estate agent in these parts because The Card House is the central hub of town and the town's leadership isn't clearly defined otherwise.

Once PCs took ownership they found a backdoor on the inside made entirely of mirror, the handle and hinges even made of it. But no door can be seen from the outside behind the building. Being ballsy and opening the door players discovered a mirror image of their house on the other side, where one enters from the Mirror Door, into the mirror's, Mirror Door. All windows of this secondary mirror house are mirrors and unopenable. The front door however looks normal and can be opened to reveal the void of space and stars! When PCs experimented with this the effect was like oxygen getting sucked out an airlock in any sci-fi, suddenly created air pressure pulling at them before they closed the secondary front door. They have yet to figure out the mystery of this house beyond that.

PCs Urist & Alimir also now use this house as a base of operations with the blessing of the others.

Special Furnishings

The Party acquired special expensive furniture from the giants of Mustardia which can be found in the house now.

  • Stormwood Dining Table: A grand oval table crafted from ancient wood struck by lightning, its surface polished to reveal swirling storm patterns and embedded with silver runes that faintly glow during thunderstorms. Seats up to 12 comfortably. Value: 3,000 gp. (Alimir's pick.)
  • Nimbus Wardrobe: A tall cabinet made from layered mistwood panels that shift translucently, adorned with gold filigree depicting cloud giant nobility. Inside, compartments seem to expand magically for storage. Value: 2,200 gp. (Eyrun's pick.)
    • Mistwood” is a kind of hardwood that most commonly comes from a super foggy area of Havenspass.
  • Zephyr Bookshelf: A multi-tiered shelving unit carved from petrified fog, with shelves that curve like rolling waves and inlaid electrum accents symbolizing wind spirits. It whispers faint lore when books are placed upon it. Value: 1,500 gp. (Jules' pick)
  • Thunderclap Sideboard: A long buffet table of resonant stone, its drawers and doors engraved with motifs of crashing waves and storms, reinforced with iron bands that echo like thunder when opened. Ideal for storing fine dishware. Value: 2,800 gp. (Urist's pick)

Pets

For awhile they turned the normal part of the house into a place to hide and keep their inappropriate “pet” Sunny the Baby Owlbear. This resulted in constant undesirable feces issues. It was also before the place started to become furnished thankfully. It was formerly also the home of Socks until it became obvious keeping unicorns indoors wasn't viable.3)

Of Note

Stashed inside of the mirror room4) between normal house & extra-dimensional space are the Kuo-Toa Idol & a Kuo-Toa Statue. The later came into being after Sunny got into a battle with a half-orc trying to snoop around5). The then idol likely did a lot of healing, maxed out as a 500LBS statue, and budded off a new idol to carry on the Kuo-Toa-fication of the realm.

1)
Cow acquired from Ema.
2)
1 front, 1 side, and a front door
3)
There's a certain cleric with some thoughts on that.
4)
Just a potential name for the place.
5)
Probably looking for the Shovel Of Alden.
