Goldvale Post Station
The Goldvale Post Station consists of a large wooden beam 12 feet high embedded in the ground not far from the center of town. There are metal rungs attached to it for tying horses and the like to. There are several waterproof sacks tied up to it as well, which are what locals use to leave outgoing mail in. Other towns might have fancier post stations. There is no set time that any courier comes through town to pick up the mail and deliver incoming mail, but some rudimentary system is in place and this does somehow happen. This became a logical thing to include in the campaign when Tod Fuzzybutt declared he was sending a message to Castle Caislen and then a player asked how they might send a message “back home” to people in their backstory. So for now the following are basically the rule about sending mail:
- There is a postal system, but details are intentionally vague.
- Mail can be sent anywhere with normal towns, cities and well known non hostile locations easily reachable by roads.
- This applies only to locations on the same continent as Goldvale.
- Any mail that is on another continent must start with PCs reaching a seaport instead.
- Let's just say that whenever mail comes to Goldvale that the delivery person likely starts by wandering into places like The Card House to deliver things since that's the central hub.
