Alimir the Paladin vanished from the Cloud Giant Shrine atop the Cloudfire Mountains overnight while The Party of Eyrun, Jules, & Urist were with him but asleep at the shrine.
How? Succu appeared in the dead of night and said she'd located Duchess, Alimir's steed, and Duchess was about to be in a lot of trouble because he was wandering in an ogre infested area of The Mistwood where he could become dinner. But she'd wrangled him back to her place. Naturally Alimir hopped on the broom and left with her immediately to see to his precious horse.
Succu then took Alimir to a secret, kind of run down cabin of hers deep in The Mistwood where roads don't go. She'd already transported Fauxbe here as part of a larger plot involved with Torralta1). Fauxbe, being a shape changer, had changed into “Duchess” form. Succu let Alimir check on “Duchess” and then proceeded to give him drinks. Strong drinks. And then…she used her succubus talents to charm him.
Most of a week went by where she charmed him repeatedly, had him cleave2) all sorts of timber and reframe the cabin, fixing it up. His fate by day was to be a charmed handyman, and by night he'd pat “Duchess” and then end up being further taken in by Succu3).
On the last day at the cabin “Phoebe” (Fauxbe) appeared at the door late at night as Alimir and Succu were settled in on a couch he'd spent the day reupholstering at her charmed command. More drinks and weirdness ensued, and when Alimir woke, having been lightly drugged by Mistwood Sap & a memory erasing spell4), he found himself lacking memories behind a dumpster in Mythburg with a tramp stamp that read “Succu” and a gold nipple ring in his right nipple that said “Cleave” in the infernal language, a mocking nod to Succu essentially kidnapping him to be a handyman & playtoy for a week.
He was never aware that “Phoebe” was actually Fauxbe and that “Duchess” wasn't a real horse.
