The Pillow Of Divine Rest simply allows someone who uses it as they sleep to count a short rest as a long rest. For example this could mean that a human could sleep on it and only need as much time to recuperate as an elf.

Additionally, those who use the pillow tend to not be as impacted by surprise encounters that happen during rest periods, compared to those around them who do not have the pillow. Only one person may sleep with the pillow at a time. What that means is remind the DM that if someone comes in to assassinate the party in their sleep that it shouldn't be you who gets murdered, first.

This is a holy item. In the event that a character becomes very attached to this pillow, we may then discover that the deity behind it either approves or disproves of the character and likely communicates through dreams. Chances are that a deity behind this pillow is a well intentioned one at least.

If someone uses this pillow to sleep and already has the perk of having short rests count as long rests, such as an elf, then it becomes redundant, aside from the secondary ability.
