Caislen Campaign Notes

The Displacer Cloak is a black cloak made out of the hide of the infamous Displacer Beast. It is enchanted to make the wearer seem as if they are 5 feet away from where they actually are.

• All attacks on the character wearing this cloak that require rolls to hit are done at disadvantage because the illusion causes confusion.
• Attacks that do not require rolls, such as Magic Missile for example, are not impacted by this cloak.
• To roleplay this, place a second figure/marker on the game table no more than 5 feet away from the character and remind your DM that attacks get disadvantages.

While this is a fantastic item, it does have a few caveats. Notably it does not stack with other illusion spells. One may interrupt the other.

Likewise if there's an illusionist nearby they will probably not be fooled by it, and may end up coveting it. So beware wearing this around decently advanced NPC arcane spell casters.
