 ====Recent Session Notes==== ====Recent Session Notes====
 +
+  * Newcomer [[Walker Florida Cleric]] was wandering in the [[Hylund:Hylund Forest]]((Game session on Oct 20, 2026.)) near the site of a newly raging **forest fire**, when all of a sudden he spotted [[player characters|The Party]] being launched twenty feet vertically into the air as they were sneezed out of a hole in the ground. Thus encountering them and joining The Party.
+    * Before that happened, The Party, aside from Jules, was stuck inside the [[Hylund:Changeling Mirror Vault]], which turned out to be a cavern system sized mimic!
+    * Inside they'd found evidence of some sort of experiment, or at least notes pointing to orcs being involved in whatever the experiment was and also [[Lester Bakeer|Lester]] as a "test subject", the guy who runs the bakery shop in [[Hylund:Petteese Creek]]. They took these notes with them.
+  * Along with their new member **Walker Florida Cleric**, The Party avoided the area where they'd started the fire, and took a route back toward Petteese Creek via [[Hylund:Hylund Lake]].
+  * Ultimately arriving at Petteese Creek, they checked in with Lester about the experiment and notes. They left the notes in his possession and he seemed to at least act clueless about all of it.
+  * Finally The Party ended their long day by heading to Sirona's home, known as the [[Hylund:Demicein Sect Fortress]], the place where [[Celestial|Celestials]] have a stronghold to worship the god [[Heaglin]] and a base of operations for opposing all things related to [[Hayte]] and [[The Cult Of Alden]].
+  * **[[Wuwwiw]]** who is [[Sirona]]'s mentor, and a [[Cleric]] of Heaglin was present. They informed her about some forest fire and claimed ignorance for how it started.
+    * Presumably this would let wiser and higher ranking people deal with that issue.
+    * Alas they did not deal with that issue. Someone else had to.
+    * See: **[[Story:Patrick Stops The Hylund Forest Fire]]**.
+  * Now using the fortress as a base of operations, Wuwwiw tasked Sirona with a new quest. Simply escort the mechanical construct known as [[Phulup]]((v1)) to the edge of [[Hylund:Hayte Ridge Gap|Hayte Ridge]].
+    * On the way to the ridge they had a first encounter with [[StingBjorn]], the monstrous orc-wasp-acid spewing hybrid creatures.
+    * The Party would go on to mess their new quest up, doing more than they were asked to do and following Phulup up the road along the ridge. There they found a **Shrine Of Hayte**. There a follower of Hatye attacked them. Phulup was shattered and they tossed his bits over the edges "just in case he was a bomb in disguise sent to blow up the shrine." Their attacker was also tossed over the edge presumably to his doom.
+    * Unsatisfied with the shrine existing there, they returned to town and bought a bomb at "[[Hylund:Lester's Bakery and Other Things]]". Turns out that there's a lot more to **[[Lester Bakeer]]** than one initially suspects.
+    * With this bomb they returned and blew up the shrine, and a good chunk of the ridge. It will now be known as [[Hylund:Hayte Ridge Gap]].
+  * The session ended with The Party on their way back to check in with Wuwwiw after that.
 +
 +
 +----
 +
+  * The Party consisting of [[Jules]], [[Urist]], [[Vesper]], [[Jeorge]] & [[Sirona]]((Game session on Oct 13, 2026.)) attempted to take the three golden dragon eggs out of [[Goldvale]] only to be stopped by an actual gold dragon that materialized out of the irrigation ditches, reforming from the goldfish in the Mesh. They willingly gave up the eggs and settled that matter.
+  * Next they left Goldvale, hitching a ride with the Land Pirates who were also transporting [[Patrick]] up to the [[Hylund:Hylund]] region since he was ready to return home. The Party objective however was to arrive at [[Hylund:Petteese Creek]] where [[Sirona]] is from to talk to her people about the [[Matilda]] issue. Gossip seems to have it that Matilda also headed up that direction not long before The Party.
+  * After arriving in **Petteese Creek**, The Party completely failed to converse with Sirona's [[Demicein Sect]]. Instead they chatted up the locals, explored the immediate area, made an attempt at the super dungeon known as [[Hylund:Ramscire]], learned that there's an odd link to another continent here in the form of [[Outkast Magics]], and then wandered a bit.
+    * //Read about any attempts to take [[Hylund:Ramscire]] by visiting its page. Amusing anecdotes and notes will be accumulating there.//
+  * The Party decided to head for a spot marked on a local map simply as the [[Hylund:Changeling Mirror Vault]], which is out in the Hylund Forest at a random spot. On their way, due to the use of the [[Fire Opal Staff]], they managed to start a problematic forest fire.
+  * The session ended with everyone in The Party except for [[Jules]] stuck inside of the "Changeling Mirror Vault" which has turned out to be a cavernous dungeon that is itself, and simultaneously the inside of a huge mimic.
 +
 +----
 +
+  * The first day of **Winter** arrived and a chill filled the air.
+  * With [[Matilda]] no longer part of the party and having created chaos with [[beavers]] on her way out, this session((Oct 6, 2026.)) featured [[Jules]], [[Urist]], & [[Vesper]] waking in the morning to find the chaos of beavers disrupting [[Goldvale]] waterways, disrupting [[Goldfish Pond|The Mesh]]. They quickly headed to [[The Card House]] and there they met new party member [[Sirona]], a Paladin of [[Heaglin]], member of the [[Demicein Sect]], who had just arrived in town to investigate rumored activity by [[The Cult Of Alden]].
+  * While visiting The Card House, it turned out that the Land Pirates were back in town and their ship, [[The Wobbly Wench]] now looks like a real sea worthy sailing vessel, slightly hovering over dry land. [[BreadBert]] who was in the tavern explained this.
+    * Apparently the [[NPC|Land Pirates]] did a chore moving supplies to a neighboring area for the wizards at the [[Tower Of Six]].
+    * BreadBert disclosed a few facts about the wizards, mostly that there are always six of them, and that they believe in something called the **[[ForceKin]]**.
+  * Realizing [[Skip]] was the only source of information to lead The Party to the three gold dragon eggs that Matilda had been far too interested in, they reluctantly let him lead them to the dungeon in question. This turned out to be a hidden level at [[Ferrin's House|Ferrin's Ruin]] right in the very town of Goldvale itself.
+  * Inside, on a third level of the dungeon that had remained hidden on prior visits((Because The Party had been terrified by a telepathic monster guarding a door and left it alone.)), a trap door was discovered leading down into a dungeon with all sorts of symbolic triangles as a nod to **[[Toc Clan Coal Mine Event|The Three]]**, as well as decor and alters to [[Hayte]]. Here 3 gold dragon eggs were stored away, likely hidden and protected from any and all parties, good and evil alike.
+  * The Party found some loot relating the **The Three** here, including a goblin hex stick and a **scroll of demon summoning**. These further serve as historical evidence of who was here.
+  * As expected, The Party looted the dragon eggs, got them to the surface, and then had to figure out what to do with them. With the waterways under beaver attack, the thought to somehow take them to the [[Goldfish Pond]] wasn't valid. So instead they took them to [[Zingle]] to keep an eye on while they went off and dealt with the beaver menace.
+    * Part of the process of moving the eggs about was to acquire a horse and cart. To this end they hit up [[The Guy]], the local gnome handyman, who let them use his cart and horse [[Tillamook]].
+  * The Party solved the beaver issue with the help of the vampires from [[Sucker Lake]], in an event that shall now be celebrated as a recurring holiday on the 2nd day of winter known as "**[[The Dam Holiday]]**". This holiday had social and political ramifications for residents of Goldvale and Sucker Lake alike.
+  * [[Goldvale]] once again became protected by [[Goldfish Pond|The Mesh]].
+  * Still unsure what to do with the 3 gold dragon eggs, The Party determined that they should take them North to the [[Hylund:Demicein Sect Fortress]] where [[Sirona]] comes from.((Even though it seems like they could just take them to the Goldfish Pond and see what happens.)) This is where the session left off, with that as the likely course of action.
 +
 +
 +----
 +
+  * In the interlude between game sessions((Between the Sept 29th & Oct 6th, 2026 game sessions.)) your Dungeon Master presents, **Matilda leaving The Party**!
+  * As we all learned about [[Matilda]], she is a [[sailor]] that came from the [[Island Nation Of Berm]]. She'd fled Berm's Royal Navy, sick of the corruption in it and the government. This landed her in [[Mythburg]] where she first encountered The Party while trying to alter her life to topple Berm's corruption, other corruption where she could find it, and eventually get back to her sister in Berm, who we never met in game but is named //Elena//.
+  * The Party eventually dragged her to [[Goldvale]] where she infamously decided that a way to get more powerful and achieve her goals was to toss (a) [[Shovel Of Alden]] & (a) [[Kelthor's Book Of Great Awareness]] into the [[Warlock Well]]. This immediately aligned her with a powerful old god called [[Hayte]] and entangled her in all things relating to [[The Cult Of Alden]]. The full scope of this is dispersed across many notes here on the game's wiki, or yet to be revealed...
+    * //There came a point in this where the actual Player realized they were not going to be very compatible with the other [[Player Characters]], and thus the idea came about to turn Matilda into an NPC.//
+  * [[Matilda]] is now evolving into something more, an [[NPC]], perhaps a **BBEG** even. It is as both Player and Player Character reach this conclusion that we find ourselves between game sessions at this critical interlude moment expressing what happens.
+  * So as the last game session ended, everyone agreed to go take a long rest at [[Casa de Vesper]] or just hang out at [[The Card House]] for awhile. While this seems harmless enough, you all might remember that "Matilda" was pressing to end the night's adventure at the [[Shrine Of Hayte]]. But we didn't have time for that at the game session. That was to be a moment of grand exit. Instead, Matilda simply slips out the door of **The Card House** late at night at an ideal moment and heads there herself. She does not return that night, or appear in the morning. She has taken off to become more entangled in the affairs of [[The Cult Of Alden]], [[Hayte]], and figure out how to best twist these things to serve her own purposes.
+  * She may be a huge threat for [[Jules]], [[Urist]], [[Vesper]] & [[Jeorge]] going forward as an NPC BBEG. We'll find out later. What the remaining members of the party need to keep in mind for now is:
+    * Matilda was pretty excited to go find some golden dragon eggs at a location that she knew about because Hayte had whispered it to her. The only other person who knows how to find them unfortunately is [[Skip]].
+    * Matilda has already made contacts within **The Cult Of Alden**. She has also realized there are anti-cult powers at play, from golden dragons, to [[Jack]], to those three random guys from a session ago hunting cult members. She has enemies and she must be clever. The Party is likely counted as new enemies now.
+    * Quite awhile ago in this campaign it was noted that a [[Hayte|Church Of Hayte]] exists to the North of Goldvale. Only a couple of players will recall that something known as the [[Eye Of Hayte]] also exists. Matilda may interact with these things in time.
+  * As a parting distraction while leaving **The Card House** that last night with The Party, Matilda wandered around [[Goldvale]] and used her **Bellows Of Beaver Summoning** to summon hundreds of [[beavers]]. Why? Because what better way to disrupt [[Goldfish Pond|The Goldfish Mesh]] than to have dams spring up all over the place, sowing chaos into Goldvale. And that is where the next game session will actually begin, in the morning, with beavers discovered wreaking ecological chaos and [[Matilda]] missing.
 +    * See also the [[beavers|Beaver FAQs]]!
 +
 +----
 +
+  * In any interesting twist to the start of a game session((Sept 29, 2026.)), wherein The Party was just starting to fight their way onto the island in the middle of [[Sucker Lake]], the missing [[Jules]] suddenly appeared, along with new party member [[Jeorge]]. At that same time, [[Alimir]] vanished. All occurrences are courtesy of [[Wyrd Uncle Lugo|Lugo]]'s abilities to transport people around.
+    * [[Jeorge]] joins [[player characters|The Party]] after developing in the prior session's one shot. The explanation is that Lugo dragged [[Jules]] off to observe him and his companions over in the [[Conservation|Community of Conservation]] because Lugo was trying to impress upon Jules that watching some [[Skinny Minis|cryptid scholars]] could lead to making contacts that might be interested in Jules' eventually monster book when she writes it. Ultimately Lugo and Jules befriend the scholar trio and Jeorge even wants to be part of The Party, agreeing to transport to the [[Goldvale]] area immediately.
+      * Jeorge's companions [[Romper]] & [[Franki]] were likely transported to Goldvale to hang out at [[The Card House]] to study local lore and hang out for awhile.
+      * Lugo also is well aware that Jules and [[Alimir]] don't get along, at all, most of the time. To that end he tracks down the pig farm that Alimir has a deed to and transports Alimir there suddenly and without warning, essentially swapping Alimir out of The Party and Jeorge in to The Party as the end result! Thus The Party loses a paladin but gains a wizard!
+    * As The Party explores the island & fight sentient plant monsters they stumble across the fantasy equivalent of a storm shelter door, with a rusty old entry mechanism and some words written in dwarvish about the [[dwarf|Toc Clan]]. Hoping to discover [[The Ring Of Ted]] here somewhere, they open it and enter. Stairs lead deep down into the very earth itself, deeper than even the lake must go.
+      * It is here that they find a place of worship to a deity of the Toc Clan known as [[gods|Maxeaul]]. There is a statue of a dwarf in this place, likely as a depiction of the god, with an axe, a maul, and an outstretched index finger bearing none other than [[The Ring Of Ted]].
+        * It is also here that [[Urist]] realizes that **The Ring Of Ted** bears strong resemblance to his jade ring, and the collected jade rings he has found in the campaign setting so far. The Ring Of Ted turns out to be hidden and protected here, where no one should ever find it. But of course Urist takes it.
+        * The Party explores farther down into a cavern system under [[Sucker Lake]] and discover [[dwarf|dark dwarves]] who must be descendants of the Toc Clan. Rather than try to ask questions and figure out if they have bearing on his own history, Urist and The Party slaughter 4 of them, loot their living spaces, and then return to the surface before others can discover them. A chance at learning more about Urist's own history, probably lost. But Ring Of Ted acquired.
+        * This shows that not all is lost to history in the Goldvale area... sometimes old factions and gods are reawakened at the right time...
+      * Crossing back over the lake, The Party encounters [[Vules]] the Wood Elf energy vampire from Crompse. Jules gets her first experience with him, isn't a fan.((There's something about this guy though.))
+      * Returning to [[The Card House]] to end the day, The Party slowly winds down, heading off to rest at [[Casa de Vesper]] or hanging out in the tavern longer into the night. With this, the actual session ended.
 +
 +----
 +
+  * At a game session with multiple missing players, a one shot scenario was run.((Sept 22, 2026.)) A trio of player characters taking on personas of being pen pals who finally met to pursue their mutual love of [[Cryptid|cryptids]] ran around a "community" known as **[[Conservation]]**. As promised by the DM, those characters, who all made it to level 3 via milestone leveling, will reappear in the normal campaign as NPCs or potential PCs.
 +
 +----
 +
+  * [[Player Characters|The Party]] started to unravel the issue of the missing goldfish in the irrigation ditch in [[Goldvale]].((September 15, 2026.))
+    * [[Jules]] was declared to leave at the start of the session to go talk with and do [[Conservation|something]] with [[Wyrd Uncle Lugo]].((On account of the player that runs Jules was absent for the session.))
+    * [[Leithe]] was absent from [[The Card House]] and it was simply said that she was off "helping a friend."
+    * [[Patrick]] was manning the burger bar in Leithe's absence. and noted to The Party that it is a shame they only brought back a limited supply of mushrooms instead of negotiating some sort of trade arrangement for an ongoing supply. Thus mushrooms will not be a permanent topping available on the burgers.
+    * [[Eyrun]] was discovered to have gone missing from the room The Party stashed her in after drugging her with [[The Mistwood|Mistwood Sap]] a few days before. To be fair, they hadn't bothered to check in on her again until this game session. It was noted from local gossip that [[Phoebe]] had been back around, so most likely Eyrun escaped with the help of her sister.
+    * Chatting with [[Jack]] about missing goldfish resulted in him giving the wisdom that they shouldn't provoke the [[Hermit House|Hermit]] who lives in the outskirts of [[Goldvale]] even though he was the mastermind behind taking the goldfish.
+    * [[Nystor]] confirmed, drunkenly, that the goldfish "don't like dead men" and that they had been captured by local [[Brumette]] on the Hermit's behalf. But he also declared that issue had been resolved because **Brumette** now plays for **his team**((Vampires.)).
+    * The Party opted to harass [[Hermit House|The Hermit]] anyway and trekked to his house in the forest. There they found the missing goldfish, acting weird pointing as a school back toward [[Goldvale]]. He offered the party 500 gold pieces to transport them to [[Sucker Lake]]. He also offered an additional 500 gold pieces if they'd capture another equal amount to take there as well.
+    * After asking some additional questions back at The Card House, The Party learned that the goldfish form kind of a protective "mesh" through Goldvale. That's the proper term for it, the "mesh" or "goldfish mesh." Jack made it clear that the best course of action would be to return the missing goldfish because it would take months for the remaining fish to breed and replace the loss. Nystor was also very for this action as well in the hopes that no goldfish would be getting dumped into Sucker Lake.
+    * In spite of all of this, [[Skip]], hanging out at The Card House, made comments to everyone about having a stash of treasure maps for the area, and even the ability to track down a demon slaying weapon. He also noted he knows where to find some gold dragon eggs.
+      * The Party struck a deal with Skip, gave him 20 gold to play future escort to where the dragon eggs are and agreed to gamble for any treasure that they collectively find there.
+      * [[Matilda]] is also in the know about gold dragon eggs & where to find them due to whisperings from [[Hayte]].
+    * 3 guys were encountered on the road between Goldvale and the Hermit's House. They at first claimed to be hunters hunting deer, but later came out as a trio hunting down members of [[The Cult Of Alden]] to eradicate them. The Party made their acquaintance and they parted ways.
+    * A couple of statues were discovered in the greater Goldvale area along the roads. Each of a pirate, cemented into the ground. Each with a different riddle. Solving the riddle opens and can reclose a secret compartment under the statue. One of these was found on the road toward the Hermit's House and the other on the road just before Sucker Lake. They seem recently placed.
+    * The Party went to the [[Zingle|Temple Of The Lost Socks]] and chatted with [[Brumette]] about the goings on lately, and she played dumb. She also suspiciously stayed inside during the daylight hours and now claims to like doing laundry at Sucker Lake at night. An essential giant clue that she's now a vampire. The Party stole 20 of her laundry buckets from the Temple.
+    * Using the buckets The Party gathered all the goldfish from the [[Hermit House]]'s pond and painstakingly transported them to near the shore at [[Sucker Lake]].
+    * At Sucker Lake at night The Party arrived, with the goldfish, to find Brumette doing laundry at the shore. Without hesitation they attacked her, via a sneak attack from [[Matilda]] and a near suicidal kamikaze like maneuver on a flying steed from [[Alimir]].
+      * //They could have chatted with her instead, but at this point were determined to end the vampires using the goldfish.//
+      * Chaos ensued, Alimir was nearly killed, and while Brumette retreated to the safety of the lake, the vampire that recently came to the area via [[Krymec's Vault]] came out of the lake and talked at The Party to calm them down. It was revealed his name is [[Vules]], formerly a [[Elf|Wood Elf]] from the "gothic village" known as **Crompse**. Vules is an **Energy Vampire**. He cut a deal with The Party to NOT dump the goldfish into Sucker Lake, and in turn he'd promise them that they can have passage to the island in the middle of the lake.
+        * Why did this happen? Because The Party thinks they can find [[The Ring Of Ted]] there, the final missing artifact from the [[Goldvale]] area.
+        * Also because they had a change of heart about wiping out the vampires who seemingly just want to be left in peace. They ended this session unsure of who's side to take in the matter of transporting the formerly missing goldfish.
+        * Note that [[Matilda]] used her magical billows to summon more than a dozen beavers into Sucker Lake. Also note that [[beavers]] are herbivores & quite smart.
 +

This pleased both [[Patrick]] and [[Leithe]].   * [[Player Characters|The Party]] finished their quest((September 8, 2026.)) to retrieve some culinary mushrooms from the [[Fungi Circle]].
