In the Hylund Region there exists a raised cropping of rock that goes for several miles, creating a ridge about 300 feet above the floor of the Hylund Forest. It serves as part of the local road system and leads toward a very Orc infested part of the region.

Originally upon this ridge sat a Shrine Of Hayte, a simple stone pillar there for as long as anyone can remember. This was all true until one day a group of adventurers consisting of Jules, Urist, Vesper, Jeorge, Sirona & Walker Florida Cleric showed up. They'd been sent on a quest by the Demicein Sect to safely escort the magical construct known as Phulup¹⁾ just do the base of the namesake Hayte Ridge and then to leave him. But instead they followed him up to the Shrine of Hayte. Fearing that the Sect had sent Phulup as some sort of bomb to blow up the shrine, they panicked. A follower of Hayte was there and attacked, breaking Phulup apart and then coming after the party. Just in case Phulup was in fact a bomb they tossed him over the sides in pieces, and ultimately retreated from the area.

They'd then visit Lester's Bakery and Other Things and acquire a bomb. Returning with the bomb, they blew a chunk of the ridge up, creating a gap 30 feet wide and 50 feet deep in the ridge. Thus the name “Hayte Ridge Gap” came into being for this spot that is now a problem for travelers on the ridge, at least until some future point if a bridge can be built potentially.

As best anyone is aware, the Shrine Of Hayte at this location was obliterated in the explosion.
