This is a roleplaying reference for the players. Don't read it before the point in game where you do the mushroom quest, and even then maybe use it sparingly so you don't spoil anything for yourself.

First and foremost Patrick should have reinforced Leithe's want for The Party to go to the Fungi Circle. The Fungi Circle probably has some mushrooms in it that'd be great with hamburgers as a topping. But common fantasy lore will have made you paranoid that it is a portal to the fey realm. Get over it and step inside the ring of mushrooms.

• Note that your chance to go SHOPPING in advance of heading to this dungeon could be relevant.
• Also note that Eyrun is drugged and unconscious at The Card House and you can either leave her to sleep or screw with that first.
• There are also some timeline branch based things that may matter, or not. For example, none of the misc running amuck The Party did before the time branch happened here. This means KIM hasn't met MATILDA and doesn't know that there is a book that he'd want, or that Eyrun has a teapot. You know a certain goblin (Grxxlt) is at the bar today, and he may slip away, and that might be fine as far as you're concerned, or not.
• VERY MINOR SIDE QUEST: Visit Kori's Potions to shop. Ask her about local Herbalism. There's at least one relevant thing associated with this where you're headed.
• Patrick was called in by Jack to deal with party chaos. Jack's motive remains the same as always though which is to safeguard the shovel. Which is on Jules. So your party is not only being managed, but also closely watched. Worth remembering.

Patrick will have given you a MAP of an abandoned mine, because he's not a dumbass, so he just asked some locals about the area, to find out about the mine which is what this place actually was before it was as the name implies, abandoned. Now a Mushroom people colony lives here. They farm it, they defend it. The Party could use Patrick's method of asking locals logical questions, but you won't. And that's why helpful NPCs are forced at you and this guide exists.

• YOUR ACTUAL GOAL: Find the suitable mushrooms for HAMBURGER based purposes. An innocent sound quest, right? Naturally these will not be easy to reach.
• SECONDARY GOAL: Teamwork as you face off against hostiles & grab loot.
• WISDOM FROM THE DM: Only you can mess this up. There's technically no reason The Party can't be organized enough to grab some mushrooms and beat down a few monsters. With what's actually placed in this dungeon by the DM the shenanigan level is low. If it is upscaled, it is on you, the players, for pulling some dumb moves while in there.

When you're done with the mine, you will take mushrooms back to Leithe.
